"Without Conflict Rejoice In The Self"🌱

अहो विकल्पितं विश्वमज्ञानान्मयि भासते ।

रूप्यं  शुत्कौ फणी रज्जौ वारि सूर्यकरे यथा ॥

मत्तो विनिर्गतं विश्वं मय्येव लयमेष्यति ।

मृदि कुम्भो जले वीचिः कनके कटकं यथा ॥

Like a mud pot immersed in a river - in the source of water. There is water all around the pot and inside the pot. The water is in every pore of the mud pot. In that way, I am present throughout this universe.

Janaka was astonished ! 

 He felt that, as he was empty and hollow, so too was the person in front of him and the person sitting to his left. That everyone was the same! Every single being - they were all the same inside, in the innermost core.

It just takes skill to see that the person standing before you, as hollow and empty - however the person behaves or acts on the outside. Inside what is he? He is my own form. As I am hollow-empty, that person is also hollow and empty. I am nobody, this person is nobody and that person is nobody.

Different coloured balloons may have different designs. Some balloons have only designs. Others are red, blue, orange, yellow and some have mixed colours. What differences does it make? The same air is inside every balloon; the same substance. It is he same thing. Janaka is surprised and amazed and is dazed by this sudden realization.

अहो विक्लपितं विश्वं ।

This entire universe is a play of one hollow and empty, playing in different forms, shapes and colours.

 Nobody's mind is predictable.

 Everybody's mind is unpredictable.

 Or you can say it other way i.e. that everybody's mind is predictable. Though completely opposite statements, they mean the same. If I say the mind is unpredictable, I have predicted what it is. I've predicted that it is unpredictable.

मत्तो विनिर्गतं विश्वं मय्येव लयमेष्यति ।

 All comes from this empty space within me and goes back into that. This body has come out of me, and this body will go back into me. I am untouched. I am the non-changing existence.

You don't know how many forms you have come in with. You don't know how many sons and daughters you have had. You don't know how many relatives you have had in the thousands and thousands of years.

Our eyes are covered. Like horses have a side covering on their eyes (blinkers), so they don't get distracted and see only road. Man is extremely cunning. He wants to control the horse in such a way that it doesn't even look at the greenery on either side of the road.

He covers its eyes so it can just see a little bit of the road, because he is in the same shape. He is unable to see the past, and he is unable to see the future.

IF YOU CANNOT MEDITATE, BE STUPID

If You Are Unable To Meditate, Your Mind Is Chattering Too Much And Nothing Works, Just Feel That You Are A little stupid. Then you will be able to sink deep.

Your intellect is a small portion of your total consciousness. If you are stuck in the intellect, you miss a lot. Happiness is when you transcend the intellect. Also, in awe or in feeling stupid, you transcend the intellect. Have you noticed mentally retarded people are more happy?

Question: How do you go beyond the intellect?

Answer: By acting stupid!

Everyone avoids being stupid, no one wants to look dumb. That is really stupid.

Stupidity should be followed by meditation, otherwise depression may follow.

यदि तुम ध्यान नहीं क्र सकते- बेवकूफ हो जाओ!

यदि तुम ध्यान करने में असमर्थ हो, यदि तुम्हारा मन अत्यधिक बाते कर रहा है और कुछ भी काम नहीं कर रहा , सिर्फ महसूस करो की तुम थोड़े से बेवकूफ हो। तब तुम गहनता में डूब सकोगे।

तुम्हारी बुद्धि तुम्हारी सम्पूर्ण चेतना का एक छोटा सा अंश है।

यदि तुम बुद्धि में फंसे हो, तब तुम कुछ खो देते हो। प्रसन्नता तब है जब तुम बुद्धि के परे जाते हो। जब तुम मुर्ख महसूस करते हो या अचम्भे में होते हो, तब तुम बुद्धि के परे जाते हो।

क्या तुमने गौर किया है कैसे मंद बुद्धि के व्यक्ति ज्यादा खुश है ?

प्रश्न: बुद्धि के परे कैसे जाये?

श्री श्री: बेवकूफ होने से ! सब मुर्ख बनने से कतराते है - कोई भी बेवकूफ नहीं प्रतीत होना चाहता। यह सचमुच मूर्खता है।

मूर्खता के बाद ध्यान आवश्यक है वरना उदासीनता आ सकती है।

प्रश्न: बेवकूफ कैसे बने ?

यश : प्रश्न पूछ कर।

राजश्री: जैसे आप हो , वैसे ही रहो।

Chanting

The Value of Chanting

Your whole body is made up of atoms.

Being with this truth kindles the energy in you and brings up the consciousness. When you sing bhajans, the Sound Energy Vibration Gets Absorbed Into Every Particle Of Your Body.

Just like a microphone absorbs sound and converts it into electricity, the body absorbs the vibrations and converts it into consciousness.

When you sit in bhajans your entire body gets soaked in energy and transformation happens. If your are sitting and listening to gossip or violent music, then that gets absorbed by your body and does not give a nice feeling.

When you hear the Knowledge, or chant with all your heart, that elevates your consciousness.

There is an ancient proverb in Sanskrit which says that the words of rishis and enlightened ones are translated into experience immediately.

Bawa says: We have read and heard from so many people, but when Guruji speaks the same knowledge it straight-away hits home.

जप का मोल

जब तुम भजन गाते हो, उस ध्वनी की ऊर्जा का स्पंदन तुम्हारे शरीर के कण-कण में समा जाता है।

यह तुम्हारी ऊर्जा को प्रज्वलित करता है और चेतना को उन्नत करता है। तुम्हारा समस्त शरीर ऊर्जा से तार जाता है। रूपांतरण होता है।

एक माइक्रोफोन ध्वनि को पकड़ कर विघुत में परोवर्तित करता है, शरीर ध्वनि के स्पंदन को समेटकर चेतना में परिवर्तित करता है।

यदि तुम बैठे- बैठे गप मरते हो, या तीव्र संगीत सुनते हो, त। वह ऊर्जा तुम्हारे शरीर मे समा जाती है और कोई सुखद अनुभूति नही देती।

जब तुम ज्ञान को सुनते हो, या पूर्ण ह्रदय से जप करते हो, तब तुम्हारी चेतना उन्नत होती है।

संस्कृत की एक पुरानी कहावत है कि ऋषियो और ज्ञानियों की वाणी तत्काल ही अनुभव बन जाती है।

बावा: हमने इतने लोगो को सुना और पढ़ा है, परंतु जब गुरुदेव उसी ज्ञान को कहते है, तब वह तुरंत ही मन मे बस जाता है।

Buddha, Manifestation Of Silence 

Are you aware you are saying "Yes?" This something that is beyond your yes or no answers, beyond your thoughts, your concepts, your feelings and ideas. 

That something that is so delicate, yet so concrete, and yet so vague and again, tangible, that is pragya, awareness. 

This comes up when you are calm, when you are in samadhi, when you have equanimity. Right mindfulness can root out the misery in our lives. 

This can break the patterns that we live with. Silence breaks the pattern, like nothing else. It is in-built in our nature, in our system. 

The human body is made that way. See, anything that is too much for the mind to take, it becomes silent. 

When something shocks you, what does it do to you? It takes you to silence. Something stunning takes you to silence. 

When something is very wonderful, words disappear, you become silent. At the height of every emotion, at the peak of every happening, there is silence. 

Recognizing it, manifesting it in your life, you cross over the ocean of samsara, the ocean of misery.

Otherwise when you feel happy or miserable, you link that feeling to something outside yourself. 

Then the wheel starts rolling, the reaction, the chain of reaction starts happening. You hold something else responsible for your misery or your happiness, someone else is responsible. 

Buddha said, "No," just observe the sensations. I think it should be mandatory for every psychologist to study Buddha. 

A psychologist can never be

complete if he does not study Buddha. Buddha has given all the knowledge about the mind and its functions in such a methodical manner. 

In traditional psychotherapy people are told, "Deep inside you there is sorrow, deep inside you there is fear, your mother did something to you, your father did something to you." 

This is such ignorance. I have known several people who had very good relationships with their parents. After going to the psychologist, it all fell apart, because the psychologist attributed their misery to their childhood by just asking them questions.

The psychologists do not know one simple thing - that every emotion has a sensation in the physiology. A specific part of the body resonates with definite emotions. 

When you observe the sensations, the emotions disappear and dissolve. When you observe the sensations, you see that the body and

consciousness are separate. 

As you move on with the observation, you see you are simply linking the sensation with an event outside. 

Wisdom is delinking the event with the emotion, and de-linking the emotion with the sensation. Ignorance is linking any sensation, sadness, or other feeling to some event. 

That makes you more miserable, and it sets the cycle going on and on. Many people go to psychotherapy for many years, and nothing happens. 

Maybe a little relief is felt for a couple of days because somebody was there to talk to you about all your problems. 

You paid someone to listen to you. There may be some value in traditional psychotherapy, I don't completely rule that out. 

There are some values, but I'm

saying there are serious flaws, and it is high time that they recognize it. 

I think some are already doing it, adding the value of meditation, the value of silence, the value of observation.

Unfortunately, none of the psychologists who furthered the profession came in contact with a Buddha or another enlightened one at any time in the past. 

They wrote volumes and volumes of books without even

encountering the depth, without knowing what is meditation, the true source of the mind.

The mind is noise, the source of the mind is silence. That is why Buddha said, "No mind." That doesn't mean that Buddha was not talking. 

How can you talk, how can you interact with people if there is no mind? When Buddha said "No mind," he meant not the chain of thoughts that simply wander around in your mind all the time. 

Buddha kept silent for many questions. Every answer only pushes the question a little further. 

Every answer brings forth many more questions. There is no end to a question/answer session. It can go on forever. 

If you answer one question, it will bring forth another 10 questions. Questions and answers are the pair, the couple, and they have no family planning.

Buddha said go beyond the questions, be answerless, for your being has the solution to all the questions.

Turn every question into wonder. What is the difference between a question and wonder? A question creates violence, wonder creates silence. 

A question is looking for an answer, wonder is like a question which is not looking for an answer. 

Do you wonder what I am saying? The astonishment of wonder does not seek for an answer. Wonder brings you home to silence. 

Question creates violence. Someone asks you a question, "Where are you going?" Just smile at them, don't answer them. A second time they will ask you, "Where are you going?" 

Again, smile at them. The third time their voice will be rising, "Where are you going, I am asking you? Come on, answer" 

When you are asking a question you are demanding. In the mind of every criminal, there is a big question, "Why this?" 

Every misery is associated with the question, "Why me?" Joy is associated with wonder. The practices we do, the sadhana, is to make our questions turn into wonder. 

As Buddha said, there is a possibility to get rid of the misery. There is a way, come, sit, meditate. 

During his time when there was so much prosperity in India, there was nothing much to be done. 

Everybody had plenty. At that time, Buddha gave a begging bowl to all his main teachers, "Come on, go and beg."

Q. How do you teach someone tolerance?

Gurudev: Tolerance itself is a negative word. You tolerate that which you don’t like. I think we need to move from tolerance to love. When you are unfamiliar with something, you don’t love it; you may even dislike it. You need to see it in a different light. Harmony and diversity should be our education; you should learn about every culture and tradition in the world, respect and honour all of them.

The day we educate ourselves in this sense, we will have far fewer problems and we would not have to tolerate anything.

Who is Guru

Guru Is Not Who You Think He Is 

We see the Guru through our own eyes. Often, we see him as a separate individual like everyone else. He just happens to be totally happy and serene. This is because of our own egoistic perspective. 

From the Guru's viewpoint, everyone is one continuum of the self. He does not see a separation. You are as precious to him as he is to himself. 

He does not see a person or devotee becoming free, but his own self waking up to himself, like when your arm or leg falls asleep and then regains its sense again. 

Living life fully is like a roller coaster ride. There is whirling, spinning, fast-paced perceptions, and adventure. If you are tense and holding on tight, resisting each turn, you will feel exhausted and sick at the end. 

But if you can relax and have faith that the builder of the ride made it for your fun and safety, then you feel thrilled, energized, and joyful.

Science vs Spirituality

KNOWLEDGE AND FAITH

In science you have knowledge first, and then faith follows.

In spirituality, faith comes first, and then Knowledge follows.

For example, the knowledge that pesticides and chemical fertilizers are good for plants came through science, and people had faith in it, and all over the world they were used. And then another knowledge came that they were not good and the faith shifted to organic farming. The same with antibiotics.

The knowledge brought faith, the knowledge changed, and then faith changed. The knowledge and faith of science is of "happening." In spirituality, faith is first and Knowledge comes later. Like Kriya, Yoga, and meditation -- first you have faith and then Knowledge follows. For example, if you do pranayama faithfully then you get the Knowledge of the prana; if your do your meditation faithfully, the Knowledge of consciousness follows. Even an illiterate, through faith, attains deep Knowledge.

Punditji: Science considers even human as matter, and spirituality considers even earth as mother, even rivers and mountains as living beings.

Science regards life as matter and spirituality regards even matter as life.

ज्ञान और निष्ठां

विज्ञान में पहले ज्ञान होता है, उसके बाद विशवास होता है। आध्यात्मिकता में विश्वास पहले , फिर ज्ञान आता है।

उदाहरण के लिए , विज्ञान ने हमे पहले बताया कि कीटनाशक दवाइयाँ और रासायनिक खाद पेड़ पौधे के लिए अच्छे है । लोगो ने विज्ञान पर विश्वास किया और सारी दुनिया में उनका उपयोग हुआ, फिर अनुभव से यह ज्ञान मिला कि उनका उपयोग ठीक नहीं और लोग प्रकृति खाद्य के प्रयोग में विश्वास करने लगे। एंटीबायोटिक दवाइयों के साथ भी ऐसा ही हुआ।

ज्ञान ने विशवास उत्पन्न किया; जब ज्ञान बदल गया , विश्वास भी बदल गया । विज्ञानं पर आधारित ज्ञान और विशवास ' घटनाओं' पर निर्भर है , जीवन के सम्पूर्ण बोध पर नहीं।

आध्यात्मिकता में निष्ठां का स्थान प्रथम है, फिर ज्ञान मिलता है। जैसे सुदर्शन क्रिया, प्राणायाम , योगासन व ध्यान इनमे पहले तुम्हे विश्वास होता है, फिर ज्ञान होता है। उदाहरण के लिए, यदि तुम पूर्ण विश्वास से, निष्ठां से प्राणायाम करते हो, तो तुम्हे 'प्राण' शक्ति का ज्ञान होता है; यदि तुम विश्वास के साथ ध्यान करो , तो चेतना का ज्ञान मिलता है। निष्ठां से अनपढ़ को भी गहन  ज्ञान की प्राप्ति होती है।

विज्ञान तो मनुष्य को भी तत्त्व समझता है। आध्यात्मिकता धरती को भी माँ समझती है, नदी और पहाड़ो को सजीव समझती है।

विज्ञान जीव को तत्त्व समझता है और अध्यात्म तत्त्व को भी चैतन्य मानता है।

Living life with grace

"To offer no resistance to life is to be in a state of grace, ease, and lightness. This state is then no longer dependent upon things being in a certain way, good or bad. It seems almost paradoxical, yet when your inner dependency on form is gone, the general conditions of your life, the outer forms, tend to improve greatly. Things, people, or conditions that you thought you needed for your happiness now come to you with no struggle or effort on your part, and you are free to enjoy and appreciate them - while they last. All those things, of course, will still pass away, cycles will come and go, but with dependency gone there is no fear of loss anymore. Life flows with ease.

The happiness that is derived from some secondary source is never very deep. It is only a pale reflection of the joy of Being, the vibrant peace that you find within as you enter the state of nonresistance. Being takes you beyond the polar opposites of the mind and frees you from dependency on form. Even if everything were to collapse and crumble all around you, you would still feel a deep inner core of peace. You may not be happy, but you will be at peace."

"Surrender is a purely inner phenomenon. It does not mean that on the outer level you cannot take action and change the situation. In fact, it is not the overall situation that you need to accept when you surrender, but just the tiny segment called the Now.

For example, if you were stuck in the mud somewhere, you wouldn't say: "Okay, I resign myself to being stuck in the mud." Resignation is not surrender. You don't need to accept an undesirable or unpleasant life situation. Nor do you need to deceive yourself and say that there is nothing wrong with being stuck in the mud. No. You recognize fully that you want to get out of it. You then narrow your attention down to the present moment without mentally labeling it in any way. This means that there is no judgment of the Now. Therefore, there is no resistance, no emotional negativity. You accept the "isness" of this moment. Then you take action and do all that you can to get out of the mud. Such action I call positive action. It is far more effective than negative action, which arises out of anger, despair, or frustration. Until you achieve the desired result, you continue to practice surrender by refraining from labeling the Now."

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SPOT IN THE UNIVERSE

There is a place you can come where everything is beautiful. Tourists go from place to place looking for beauty. They try to take beauty from that place. They only get tired and tanned. Yet the most beautiful spot anywhere is right here. When you come here, you find that wherever you are, everything is so beautiful.

Where is this place? Don't look here and there. Where do you go? Within you. When you come here, then any place is beautiful. Then wherever you go, you add beauty there.

If you are unhappy, even the moon is irritating to you. Sweet things are nauseating, music is disturbing. When you are calm and centered inside, noise is musical, clouds are magical, rain is liquid sunshine.

Book yourself on a trip to this most beautiful place in the universe. Then you find that every day is a vacation and a celebration.

विश्व का सबसे सुन्दर स्थान 

एक ऐसा स्थान है जहाँ तुम आ सकते हो, जहाँ सब कुछ सुन्दर है।

यात्री एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान पर सुंदरता की खोज में घूमते है। घूमते-घूमते उनका शरीर थक जाता है, रंग सांवला हो जाता है। वे उस स्थान की सुंदरता को अपने पास रखने का प्रयास करते है। परन्तु सबसे सुन्दर स्थान तो यही है। जब तुम यहाँ आ जाते हो, तुम्हे आभास होता है कि जहाँ तुम हो वहा सब कुछ कितना सुन्दर है।

कहाँ है यह स्थान ?

इधर-उधर मत देखो। अपने अंदर आ जाओ। जब तुम यहाँ आ जाते हो , हर स्थान तुम्हे सुन्दर  लगता है। फिर जहाँ भी तुम जाओगे, उस स्थान की सुंदरता बढ़ा दोगे।

जब तुम दुखी होते हो, चाँद से भी चिढ होती है; मिठाई अरुचिकर लगती है, संगीत विचलित करता है। जब आप अंदर शांत और केंद्रित होते है, शोरगुल भी संगीतमय लगता है, बादलो में जादू है, बरसात मानो पिघला हुआ प्रेम।

विश्व के इस सबसे सुन्दर स्थान पर जाने की टिकट कटा लो। तब तुम पाओगे कि प्रत्येक दिन अवकाश का दिन है और उत्सव का दिन है।

पिछले सप्ताह की पहेली का उत्तर है 'सलाह'। 'सलाह' शून्य में लटकती रहती है। देने वाला देता रहता है, लेने वाला लेता नहीं। यही चलता रहता है....

Perfection

Perfection

When we are joyful, we do not look for perfection. If you are looking for perfection then you are not at the source of joy. Joy is the realization that there is no vacation from wisdom. The world appears imperfect on the surface but underneath, all is perfect. Perfection hides, imperfection shows off. The wise will not dwell on the surface but will probe into the depths. The things you see are not blurred, it is your vision that is blurred. Infinite actions exist in the wholeness of consciousness, and yet consciousness remains perfect, untouched. Realize this now and be at home. Legendary is the love that withstands rejection. It will be free of anger and ego. Legendary is the commitment that withstands humiliation. It will be one-pointed and will reach the goal. Legendary is the wisdom that withstands turbulence. It will be integrated into life. Legendary is the faith that withstands a million chances of doubt. It will bring perfection - siddhis. Legendary are the events that withstand time. They will become morals for millions.

Can love solve all world problems

Q. I find it difficult to believe that all real world day to day problems will get resolved by love or compassion alone. How would you deal with this perspective?

Gurudev:    I get your point. Think from your personal experience, what type of boss would you prefer, someone who always has a frown on their face, who puts pressure on you? It does not mean that as a leader, you should keep smiling in all situations. It only means that you should use anger sparingly. Sometimes, just a little expression of anger on your face gets a lot of work done much faster.

You should rather make people feel comfortable around you and inspire them by smiling with them and being with them; understanding their point of view, creating a sense of belongingness in them, rather than run the business operating on fear psychosis.

गायत्री मंत्र

ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्

गायत्री के अक्षरों का आपसी गुंथन, स्वर-विज्ञान और शब्दशास्त्र के ऐसे रहस्यमय आधार पर हुआ हैं कि उसके उच्चारण मात्र से सूक्ष्म शरीर में छिपे हुए अनेक शक्ति केंद्र अपने आप जागृत होते हैं| सूक्ष्म देह के अंग-प्रत्यंगों में अनेक चक्र उपचक्र, ग्रंथियाँ, मातृकायें, उपत्यकायें, भ्रमर मेरु आदि ऐसे गुप्त संस्थान होते हैं जिनका विकास होने से साधारण-सा मनुष्य प्राणी अनंत शक्तियों का स्वामी बन सकता हैं| 

गायत्री मंत्र का उच्चारण किस क्रम से होता हैं उससे जिह्वा, दाँत, कंठ, तालू, ओष्ठ, मूर्धा आदि से एक विशेष प्रकार के ऐसे गुप्त स्पंदन होते हैं जो विभिन्न शक्ति-केंद्रों तक पहुँचकर उनकी सुषुप्ति हटाते हुए चेतना उत्पन्न कर देते हैं| इस प्रकार जो कार्य योगी लोग बड़ी कष्टदायक साधनाओं और तपस्याओं से बहुत काल में पूरा करते हैं वह महान कार्य बड़ी सरल रीति से गायत्री के जप मात्र से स्वल्प समय में ही पूरा हो जाता हैं|

साधक और ईश्वर सत्ता गायत्री माता के बीच में बहुत दूरी हैं, लंबा फासला हैं| इस दूरी एवं फासले को हटाने का मार्ग इन २४ अक्षरों से मन्त्र से होता हैं| जैसे जमीन पर खड़ा हुआ मनष्य सीढ़ी की सहायता से ऊँची छत पर पहुँच जाता हैं वैसे ही गायत्री का उपासक इन २४ अक्षरों की सहायता से क्रमश: एक-एक भूमिका पर करता हुआ, ऊपर चढ़ता हैं और माता के निकट पहुँच जाता है।

गायत्री का एक-एक अक्षर एक-एक धर्म शास्त्र है। इन अक्षरों को व्याख्या स्वरूप ब्रह्माजी ने चारों वेदों की रचना की और उनका अर्थ बताने के लिए ऋषियों ने अन्य धर्म ग्रन्थ बनाये। संसार में जितना भी ज्ञान-विज्ञान है वह बीज रूप से इन २४ अक्षरों में भरा हुआ है। एक-एक अक्षर का अर्थ एवं रहस्य इतना अधिक है कि उसे जानने में एक-एक जीवन लगाया जाना भी कम है। इन २४ अक्षरों के तत्व-ज्ञान को जो जानता है उसे इस संसार में और कुछ जानने योग्य नहीं रहता।

गायत्री सबसे बड़ा मन्त्र है। इससे बड़ा और कोई नहीं। जो कार्य संसार के अन्य किसी मन्त्र से हो सकता है वह गायत्री से भी अवश्य हो सकता है। इससे वेदोक्त दक्षिण मार्ग और तन्त्रोक्त वाम मार्ग दोनों ही प्रकार की साधना हो सकती हैं।

SAKHA -- YOUR RELIABLE SENSE

There are three things: the Self, the senses, and the object, or the world. And there are three words: sukha, pleasure; dukha, sorrow; and sakha, companion. These have one thing in common: "kha," which means "senses."

 The Self through the senses experiences the world. When the senses are with the Self, that is pleasure (sukha), because the Self is the source of all joy or pleasure. When the senses are away from the Self (dukha) -- in the mud, lost in the object -- that is misery. Mud, misery, mind -- they are very close.

Self      ---      Senses ("Kha")     ---      World

---     Joy (Sukha)           Sorrow (Dukha)     ---

Self is the nature of joy. In any pleasant experience, you close your eyes; you smell a nice flower, or you taste or touch something. So sukha is that which takes you to the Self. Dukha is that which takes you away from the Self. Sorrow simply means that you are caught up in the object, which goes on changing, instead of focussing on the Self.

All the sense objects are just a diving board to take you back to the Self.

Sa-kha, companion, means: "He is the senses." Sakha is one who has become your senses, who is your senses. If you are my senses, it means I get Knowledge through you; you are my sixth sense. As I trust my mind, so I trust you. A friend could be just an object of the senses, but a sakha has become the very senses.

The sakha is the companion who is there in both the experiences of the dukha and of sukha. It means one who leads you back to the Self. If you are stuck in an object, that wisdom which pulls you back to the Self is sakha.

Knowledge is your companion and your companion is Knowledge. And the Master is nothing but the embodiment of Knowledge. So sakha means, "He is my senses, I see the world through that wisdom, through Him."

If your sense is the Divine, then you see the whole world through the Divinity.

Your head will be in the mud in a few years;

Don't put mud in your head while you are still alive.

सखा-तुम्हारी विश्वसनीय इन्द्रिय 

तीन विषय है: आत्मा, इन्द्रियाँ एवं वस्तु (संसार) और तीन शब्द है: सुख, दुःख, और सखा।

इस तीनो ही शब्दों में एक समानता है- 'ख', जिसका अर्थ है इन्द्रियाँ।

आत्मा इन्द्रियों के द्वारा संसार का अनुभव करती है। जब इन्द्रियाँ आत्मा के साथ रहती है तब सुख होता हैं (क्योंकि आत्मा सुख और आनन्द का स्रोत है)

जब इन्द्रियाँ आत्मा से विमुख हो, भौतिक विषयों के दलदल में फ़स जाती है, तब दुःख होता है। यही दुःख है।

            संसार                                           आत्मा 

                                     इन्द्रियाँ ('ख')

            दुःख                                             सुख 

आत्मा का स्वाभाव ही आनन्द हैं। सभी इन्द्रियाँ आत्मा की ओर उड़ान भरने के लिए हैं। किसी भी सुखद अनुभूति में तुम आँखे मूंद लेते हो- किसी सुगन्धित फूल को सूंघते हो तब या कोई स्वादिष्ट खाना चखते हो, अथवा किसी वस्तु को स्पर्श करते हो। सुख वह है जो आत्मा की ओर ले जाता है।

दुःख आत्मा से विमुख करता है। दुःख का यही अर्थ है कि, तुम आत्मा पर केंद्रित होने के बदले विषय- वस्तु में फंसे हो, जो परिवर्तनशील है।

'स-खा' शब्द का अर्थ है "वह ही इन्द्रियाँ है"। सखा वह है जो तुम्हारी इन्द्रियाँ ही है। अर्थात तुम्हारे माध्यम से मुझे ज्ञान मिलता है, तुम मेरी छठी इन्द्रिय हो। जिस प्रकार मैं अपने मन पर विश्वास करता हूँ, उसी तरह तुम पर भी विशवास करता हूँ। एक मित्र इन्द्रियों की अनुभूति का विषय हो सकता है परन्तु 'सखा' स्वयं इन्द्रिय बन जाता है।

'सखा' वह साथी है जो सुख और दुःख दोनों अनुभवों में साथ रहता है। अर्थात सखा वह है जो तुम्हें आत्मा की ओर वापस ले जाता है। जब तुम किसी विषय- भोग में फ़स जाते हो,तब जो ज्ञान तुम्हें आत्मा की ओर वापस लता है, वही सखा है।

ज्ञान तुम्हारा साथी है और तुम्हारा साथी ज्ञान है।

गुरु ज्ञान का प्रतिरूप है। 'सखा' का अर्थ है,"वह मेरी इन्द्रियाँ है, मैं संसार को उसी ज्ञान के द्वारा, उनके माध्यम से देखता हूँ।"

कुछ वर्षो में तुम्हारा मस्तक मिटटी में होगा, जीते जी अपना सर कीचड़ से मत भरो।

गुरु की दृष्टि से देखो तो पूरा विश्व दिव्य दिखेगा।

Is Guru responsible for your enlightenment? If yes and you don't get awakened, then Guru is to be blamed.

And if you get freedom then also the Guru is to be blamed because he has been partial to you.

If Guru could set you free, he could have done it to the whole world. So Guru is not responsible for your awakening.

And yet freedom is next to impossible without Guru. So Guru is responsible and yet not responsible. This is a mystery.

Confidence with Humility: The Rarest Combination

One of the rarest combinations in the human personality is the co-existence of confidence and humility. Often people who are confident are not humble and people with humility are not confident.

Confidence blended with humility is most appreciated by everybody.

Question: How can confidence be developed in one who is humble and humility in one who is confident?

Sri Sri:

When you see your life from a bigger context of time and space, then you realize your life is nothing.

When you are humble you need to see that you are unique and dear to the Divine, which brings confidence, and when you realize you are insignificant, that brings confidence.

When you have a guru, you cannot be arrogant. Your guru gives you confidence and also brings humility in you. The weakness in humility and the arrogance in confidence are removed.

You are left with confidence and humility!

आत्मविश्वास और विनम्रता: एक दुर्लभ मिश्रण

आत्मविश्वास और विनम्रता का एक साथ विद्यमान होना अति दुर्लभ मिश्रण है। प्रायः जिनमे आत्मविश्वास होता है वे विनम्र नही होते और जिनमे विनम्रता होती है उनमें आत्मविश्वास नही होता। विश्वास और विनम्रता का सम्मिश्रण सभी को सर्वाधिक सर्वप्रिय होता है।

प्रश्न: जो व्यक्ति विनम्र है उसमें आत्मविश्वास कैसे उत्पन्न किया जा सकता है और जिसमे आत्मविश्वास है उसे विनम्र कैसे बनाया जा सकता है?

श्री श्री: पहला जब तुम अपने जीवन को एक विशाल दृष्टि से कल और स्थान के परिपेक्ष्य में देखते हो तब तुम अनुभव करते हो कि तुम्हारा जीवन कुछ भी नही है। दूसरा जो लोग विनम्र होते है उन्हें यह जानने की आवश्यकता है कि वे अद्वितीय और ईश्वर के अति प्रिय है इससे उनमे आत्मविश्वास उत्पन्न होता है। और जब तुम यह अनुभव करते हो की तुम नगण्य हो इससे भी आत्मविश्वास जाग्रत होता है। और तीसरा यदि तुम्हारे पास गुरु है तब भी तुम अभिमानी नही रह सकते। गुरु तुम मे आत्मविश्वास लाते है और विनम्रता भी लाते है। विनम्रता से दुर्बलता और आत्मविश्वास से अभिमान निकल जाता है। और जो तुम्हारे पास बचता है वह है- आत्मविश्वास और विनम्रता।।

PRESTIGE AND HONOR, YOUR GOLDEN CAGE

Honor reduces the freedom. Your fame, honor and virtue can limit your freedom.

Nobody expects a good person to make a mistake. So the better person you are, the higher the expectations people have of you. It is then that you lose your freedom. Your virtues and good actions are like a golden cage. You are trapped by your own good actions, for everyone expects more from a good person. Nobody expects anything from a bad person.

Most of the people are stuck in this cage of prestige and honor. They can not smile. They are constantly worried about keeping up their prestige and their honor. It becomes more important than their own life. Just being good or doing good to keep the prestige and honor is worthless. Prestige and honor can bring more misery in life than poverty.

Many desire fame, but little do they know that they are looking for a cage.

It is an art to be dignified, and yet not be suffocated by it. Only the wise would know this. For the wise one it is natural to be in honor, and he has no concerns even if it falls apart. Despite having fame or prestige, he will live as though he has none.

A wise person can handle any fame without feeling suffocated, for he is crazy too!

By doing good in the society one gains prestige, then enjoying the prestige and honor, one loses their freedom.

Question: Then how do you keep your freedom?

Answer: By being like a child, considering the world as a burden a joke or a dream.

प्रतिष्ठा और सम्मान – तुम्हारा सुनहरा विजय

सम्मान स्वतंत्रता को कम करता है। तुम्हारी प्रसिद्धि सम्मान और सद्गुण तुंहरी स्वतंत्रता को सीमाबद्ध कर सकते है।

कोई भी एक अच्छे व्यक्ति से गलत करने की आशा नही रखता। इसलिए जितने तुम अच्छे होते हो लोगो की उतनी ही  तुमसे उच्चतर अपेक्षाएँ होती है। तब तुम अपनी स्वतंत्रता खो देते हो तुम्हारे सद्गुण और अच्छे कृत्य एक सुनहरे पिंजरे के समान हो जाते है। तुम स्वयं अपने अचे कृत्यों में फंस जाते हो क्योकि हर एक व्यक्ति एक अच्छे व्यक्ति  से अधिक अपेक्षा करता है। और एक खराब व्यक्ति से कोई भी कुछ आशा नही रखता।

अधिकतर लोग इस सम्मान और प्रतिष्ठा के पिंजरे में जकड़ जाते है। वे मुस्कुरा नही सकते। वे निरंतर अपनी प्रतिष्ठा और सम्मान बनाए रखने के लिए चिंतित रहते है। अपने जीवन से भी अधिक उनके लिए इसका महत्व होता है। केवल प्रतिष्ठा और सम्मान बनाए रखने के लिए ही कुछ अच्छा करना व्यर्थ है। निर्धनता की अपेक्षा प्रतिष्ठा और सम्मान जीवन को अधिक दुखमय बना सकते है।

कुछ लोग प्रसिद्धि की आकांक्षा करते है परंतु वे यह बिल्कुल नही जानते कि वे एक पिंजरे को आमंत्रण दे रहे है।

बिना घुटन के सम्मानित रहना एक कला है। केवल ज्ञानी ही यह समझ सकते है। ज्ञानी का सम्मानित होने स्वाभाविक है, परंतु यदि नही भी होता तब भी उसे कोई परवाह नही होती । प्रतिष्ठा और प्रसिद्धि होने पर भी वह ऐसे रहता है जैसे कि उसके पास कुछ भी न हो। एक ज्ञानी किसी भी प्रसिद्धि को बिना किसी घुटन के संभाल सकता है।

समाज मे अच्छा काम करने से व्यक्ति को सम्मान प्राप्त होता है, बाद में प्रतिष्ठा और सम्मान में जब उसे आनंद आने लगता है। तब उसकी स्वतंत्रता खत्म हो जाती है। 

प्रश्न- तब अपनी स्वतंत्रता कैसे बनाए रखेंगे?

श्री श्री- एक बच्चे के जैसे बनकर, इस संसार को एक स्वप्न, एक बोझ या एक चुटकुला मान कर।

अगले सूत्र में बताते है- जाग्रत्स्वप्नसुषुप्तभेदे तुर्यायोगसंभव:

तीन अवस्था तो हम सब जानते ही हैं - जाग्रत अवस्था, स्वप्नावस्था और निद्रावस्था । इन तीनों अवस्थाओं के बीच में कुछ  क्षण ऐसे मिलते हैं, जहाँ हम न जाग रहे हैं न सो रहे हैं, न स्वप्न देख  रहे हैं, न नींद में है । क्षण भर के लिए ऐसी जो स्थिति होती है वह है तुरीय अवस्था । वही शिव अवस्था है । यदि उस स्थिति पर भी हम ध्यान देते हैं तो समाधि लगने लगती  है । चिन्तासे मुक्त होने लगते हैं । फिर वह बालपन जो स्वभावगत है, निखरने लगता है । शिव तत्व को खोजना हो तो उसे कहाँ खोजे  ? वह कैलाश पर्वत पर नहीं है । शिव तत्व को खोजना हो तो जाग्रत व स्वप्नावस्था के मध्य में खोजे । जब नींद से जग रहे हैं और पूरी तरह  से जागे भी नहीं, उस समय आँख बंद कर थोड़ी देर ध्यान में बैठो । तब मन विचारों से मुक्त होकर गहराई में उतरता है और उस चैतन्य आत्मा का अनुभव होने लगता है । वह चैतन्य ही आत्मा है यह चतुर्थावस्था का अनुभव इन तीनों के बीच-बीच में उपलब्ध होने लगता है । वह चैतन्यस्वरूप प्रकट होने लगता है । 

एक नवजात शिशुमें जो चैतन्य है, एक नन्हें मुन्ने बालक में जो जीवन्तता है प्राय: प्रौढ़ अथवा बहुत पढ़े- लिखे व्यक्तियों में  नज़र  नहीं आती है । जो आत्मा चैतन्यरूपी है, जो चैतन्यस्वरूप प्रकट होता है बच्चों में,  धीरे-धीरे बहुत पढ़-लिखे व्यक्तियों में गायब होने लगता है । इसका कारण क्या हैं ? क्या हम जीवन को सही मायने में जीते भी है या सिर्फ एक सूचना के यंत्र बन गये हैं ? सूचना इकट्ठा करके यंत्र बन जाने से या जीवन्तता के अभाव से जीवन प्रकट नहीं हो पाता । सब कुछ यांत्रिक हो जाती है । मुस्कान गायब हो जाता है । कहते हैं कि एक शिशु एक दिन में चार सौ बार मुस्कुराता है । एक युवा केवल सत्रह बार मुस्कुराता है । एक प्रौढ़ व्यक्ति मुस्कुराता ही नहीं और बड़े प्रोफेसर हो गये तो भूल ही जाओ, वे तो मुस्कुराते ही नहीं, वे समझते हैं बहुत बड़ा अपराध है मुस्कुराना । चेतना का क्या लक्षण है ? चेतना का लक्षण है उत्साह, प्रेम,आनंद, सृजनात्मकता । चाहे उपद्रव भी करो कोई हर्ज  नहीं, कुछ तो करते रहो वह चैतन्य का नटखटपन भी ठीक है वह चैतन्य का ही लक्षण है । जहाँ चेतना होती है वहाँ जड़ता नहीं होती । जड़ बन के बैठे रहें यह तो चेतना का अभाव है । ऐसी चेतना का प्रस्फुरण अथवा विकास जीवन में चाहिए ।

अगला सूत्र है - ' उद्यमो भैरव: ' - हमारा शरीर और मन अलग-अलग नियमों पर कार्य करते हैं । शरीर में जितनी ताकत लगायेंगे, व्यायाम करेंगे, उतना ही वह हृष्ट- पृष्ट होने लगेगा पर मन के लिये एक अलग ही ढंग है, जितना आप विश्राम करोगे उतना ही मन तीक्ष्ण होने लगेगा । ' उद्यमो भैरव: ' यह विलक्षण सूत्र है । जहाँ हम पुरुषार्थ नहीं करते, वहाँ पर न तो साधना सिद्ध होती है और न ही संसार में कोई कार्य सिध्द होता है । उसके लिए हमें पूरा प्रयत्न करना पड़ेगा ।

                        

 पूरा प्रयत्न करो । ऐसा नहीं कि भगवान की जब इच्छा होगी तब हो जायेगा । आपके मन में किसी बात की इच्छा उठी हो वो भगवान के द्वारा ही उठी है तो उसके लिए उद्यम करो । हम अक्सर क्या करते हैं ?  हम उद्यम से, प्रयत्न से बचने की चेष्टा करते हैं । कहा गया है- '  उद्योगिनं पुरुष: सिंह भुपैति लक्ष्मी ' जो उद्योगी है उन्हीं को भाग्य प्राप्त होता है । आलसी व्यक्ति को भाग्य प्राप्त नहीं होता है ।

  

   ' उद्यमो भैरव: ' अर्थात उद्यमी बनों । जैसे 'ईश्वर ' ने उंगलियां दी है परंतु इसका प्रयोग कैसे करना है यह उद्यम पर निर्भर है । सितार बजाना है तो कैसे बजायें ? उसके लिए एक विशेष प्रकार के अभ्यास की जरूरत है । कम्प्यूटर में टाइप करना हो तो उसके लिए भी अभ्यास की जरूरत है । आध्यात्मिक हो या पारमार्थिक कुछ भी कार्य करना हो तो हमें अपना प्रयत्न जारी रखना पड़ेगा।

जब हम अपनी पूरी चेष्टा करते हैं, ताकत लगा देते हैं, तो उसके बाद विश्राम के क्षणों में ही समाधि लगती है । आलसी व्यक्ति को कभी समाधि नहीं लग सकती । सेवा, साधना, सत्संग - तीनों ज़रूरी है । यदि हमारा ध्यान नहीं लगता है, मन शांत नहीं होता है तो इसकी वजह है रजोगुण की वृध्दि । रजोगुण को जब हम काम में नहीं लगाते  हैं तब रजोगुण चिंता के रूप में परिणित हो जाता है । उद्यम करो, प्रयत्न करो ।कार्यरत रहने से, काम करते रहने से रजोगुण शांत होने लगता है । जो करने का मन है उसे करके शांत हो जायें और जो नहीं करना है उसको छोड़कर शांत हो जायें । रजोगुण की प्रवृत्ति है कि उसमें पूरा उद्यम लगाने से  आदमी सत्वगुण में पहुँच जाता है । इसलिए ' उद्यमो भैरव: ' ऐसा कहा गया है । बैठ नहीं पाते हो , मस्ती में डूब नहीं पाते हो तो उद्यम करो । साधना, सेवा, सत्संग के द्वारा आप पुन: अपने स्वभाव में आ सकते हो । स्वात्मानंद प्रकाशवपुरो - हमारा अपना स्वभाव जो कि आनंदमय, ज्ञानमय, प्रकाशमय है उसमें टिकने में आसानी होगी ।

      इसलिए जो खाली बैठे रहते हैं, उन्हें ध्यान नहीं होता । जो उद्यमी हैं और ध्यान में बैठते है उन्हें अच्छी तरह समाधि लगने लगती है और वे शिव तत्व में प्रविष्ट होने लगते हैं ।

अगला सूत्र है  ' ज्ञानधिष्ठानं मातृका '

     ' ज्ञान ' किसी भाषा के माध्यम से ही समझ में आता है ।  अनुभति को हम जब ज्ञान  के रूप में परिवर्तित करते हैं तो वह किसी न किसी भाषा के रूप में ही हो सकता है । कुछ शब्दों से पद बनता है, पद वाक्य बनता है ,वाक्य से  हमे ज्ञान होता है ।तो ज्ञान का मूल है  - अक्षर । अक्षर से पद, पद से वाक्य । जब कोई चिन्ता आपको सताती है तो वह चिन्ता किसी वाक्य या पद  के बिना हो ही नहीं सकती । किसी भाषा के बिना आप चिन्ता कर ही नहीं सकते । ऐसी स्थिति में कभी - कभी ज्ञान हमारे लिए  बन्धन का कारण बन जाता है । अनुभूति से रहित ज्ञान जीवन में बन्धन लेकर आता है , चिन्ता का कारण बन जाता है । इससे कैसे मुक्त हुआ जाये ? इस बन्धन से कैसे छुटकारा पाये ?

                     

'ज्ञानधिष्ठानं मातृत्व '  वाक्य को समझे बिना ज्ञान नही हो  सकता । कोई चिन्ता ना हो, किसी भी जानकारी के लिए भाषा की जरूरत होती है , शब्दों की  जरूरत होती है ।  उस वाक्य का भेदन करते हुए, वाक्य के भेद से  जो अक्षर  मिलता है उस अक्षर तक पहुँचे ।  वही मातृशक्ति है , वही दैवीय शक्ति है । उसकी सहायता से हम चिन्ता से मुक्त हो सकते है इसलिए  मन्त्र को भी कहा है  " मनना त्रयते इति मन्त्र:।जिसे बार- बार  मन में दोहराने से  चिन्ता रूपी भाषा या वाक्य से मुक्त हो जाये । यह एक उपाय हैै । चिन्ता किसी वाक्य से होती है तो उस वाक्य पर ही मन केन्द्रित   करो । उस चिन्ता को ही लेकर  बैठें । उस चिन्ता को तोड़ते जायें ।

जैसे ' बेटे को नौकरी नहीं मिल रही है ' यह एक चिन्ता है मन में , तो  उसी को लेकर बैठें  बे- टे- को- नौ-क-री  एेसे एक एक अक्षर देखते जाएँ । चिन्ता  बहुत तेजी से होती है मगर उसको धीरे धीरे  खण्डित करते जाते है तो मन उस वाक्य से शब्द से हट कर ध्यान में जाने लगता है । चिन्ताओं से मुक्ति मिलने लगती है ।  नहीं तो ध्यान के लिए कितनी बार बैठते हैं और चिन्ता को हटाने की चेष्टा करते हैं लेकिन वे हटती नहीं है । चिन्ता को लेकर उसके मूल मात्रा में चले जायें । उसके अर्थ और शब्दों का भेद करते चले जायें । तभी  ध्यान में  गति होने लगती है । फिर - ' शक्ति चक्र संघाने विश्व संंहार : ( शक्ति चक्र का संहरण करने से विश्व संहार होता है ) । शरीर में जो शक्ति केन्द्र है वहाँ पर ध्यान लगाते लगाते मस्त हो सकते हैं ।

             अथः शिवसूत्र

अब हम शिवसूत्र देखते हैं

हम में  से प्रत्येक के जीवन में कुछ न कुछ शुभ जरूर घटा हैं,लेकिन मन का स्वभाव है कि हम शुभ को छोड़ देते हैैं एवं नकारात्मक घटना हैै, उसी को पकड़ कर बैठ जाते हैं। दस अच्छी अच्छी बातें आपको सुनाये और मात्र एक गाली दें तो आप किसे पकड़ कर बैठते हो?

     

    चित्त का स्वभाव हो गया है कि हम नकारात्मकता को पकड़ कर बैठते हैं । यदि हमें इस स्वभाव से मुक्ति चाहिए तो ' शिवसू्त्र ' को समझना होगा । जीवन में शुभ को पकड़ आगे कर चलें । वस्तुत: सत्य जो शिव है, जो शुभ है और जो सुंदर भी है, उसके जरिए संसार सागर से पार होने की एक विधि है  शिवसूत्र ।

सबसे पहला सूत्र है :- 

भगवान शंकर कहते हैै-   चैैतन्य आत्मा , कि तुम चैतन्य आत्मा को खोजना चाहते हो लेकिन आत्मा  कहीं दूर कोई  वस्तु नहीं हैै । इस सृष्टि में , जिससे सब कुछ बना हैै या पूरी सृष्टि ही जिससे बनी हैै, वह चैतन्य आत्मा ही है । हमे अपना अनुभव भी उस  चैतन्य के द्वारा  ही होता है । चैतन्य ही वो  शक्ति हैै जिससे हम  स्वयं को जान पाये, स्वयं को जानने की शक्ति केवल चैतन्य में ही है । जहाँ चैतन्य की वृध्दि होती हैै वहाँ होश भी बढ़ जाता हैै लेकिन अन्तर इतना हैै कि जागृत व्यक्ति जानता हैै और सोया हुआ व्यक्ति  उसे जान नहीं पाता ।

                

सबसे पहला सूत्र हैै - चैैतन्य आत्मा । इस प्रकृति में देखोगे तो कण कण में चैतन्य दिखाई  देता है । कहीं -कहीं  चैतन्य सोया हुआ है उसकी अभिव्यक्ति पूर्ण रुप से नहीं हुई हैै तो  कहीं कहीं उसकी अभिव्यक्ति अधिक है । इतना  समझने मात्र से ही व्यक्ति अपने लक्ष्य पर पहुँच सकता है जो स्वात्मानंद प्रकाश है । आनंद के प्रकाश रुपी हमारी चेतना है । चैतन्य आत्मा ।

        समस्त साधनाएँ  क्रियाएें ,यज्ञ , हवन, होम, ध्यान-पुण्य चैतन्यता की वृध्दि के लिए ही  है । चेतना को बढा़ने के लिए है । चेतना को बढ़ाओ तो आत्म साक्षात्कार होने लगेगा कि  चैतन्य ही आत्मा है । चेतना को बढा़ओ  यह कहना भी उचित नहीं है, वस्तुत: चेतना  न बढ़ती है न घटती  है । चेतना तो सर्वत्र व्याप्त है , लेकिन उसके प्रति हमारा ज्ञान बढ़ता  है या  घटता है । उसकी अनुभूति बढ़ती है या घटती  है ।
